5 Mistakes that Could Sabotage Your Facebook Marketing Campaigns

Social media is the Midas Touch of modern marketing techniques. You can turn something seemingly hard to get off the ground into a campaign that’s both recognized widely and extremely profitable to you.

The problem is, that much like the legend behind the Midas Touch, it can also be a curse. Simple social media mistakes can drag your campaign down to the realm where nothing you do will ever amount to anything.

It’s really an easy way to run yourself ragged.

To avoid those common social media mistakes, I’ve decided to take a look at 5 of the most blaring Facebook marketing mistakes that companies tend to make. Just keep in mind that these mistakes are unique to the other 3 Common Facebook Mistakes I posted about previously.

1. Incomplete Profiles or Pages

The foundation of a home shares many similarities to the foundation that a proper social media marketing campaign should have; unless the foundation is solid, it will inevitably collapse.

That’s why filling out your entire social media profile is a thing that you have to do.

Business hours, an address, photographs of your products and employees, and everything else that will help your potential and actual fans learn about your company should be on your Facebook Fan Page.

Even the vanity URL you use should be something that looks aesthetically pleasing while being informative about your business.

2. Posting Too Much

When it comes to social media, even your best audiences can get enough of you. Posting too much in too short of a time period will lead to less positive reception by your fans, to the point where they might ignore everything that you have to say in the future.

But wait, – what about keeping ahead of all the other Fan Pages they have flooding their feed?

Don’t worry about competing in terms of quantity. Compete in terms of quality, as posts with my interaction will naturally rise to the top of Timeline feeds.

3. Bad Cover Photos

The prevalence of Cover Photos that violate Facebook’s terms of service is astounding. This can result in suspension, removal of your page or removal of your ability to administrate your page.

None of those are things you want. Plus, when you review what isn’t allowed, you’ll understand that these things can just make your Facebook Page look plain tacky.

Under Facebook guidelines, you’re not allowed to have the following in your Cover Photo on your Facebook Fan Page:

  • Price information, discount codes or anything other text that could be construed as incentives for Liking your page.
  • Any calls to action, which include to Like, share, comment, download, share, refer your friends, or actions that would otherwise benefit you.
  • Contact information, which includes but isn’t limited to: phone numbers, email addresses, physical address or website forms.

What should you use as a cover photo? Coca-Cola has an amazing example of the type of Cover Photo you should use.

Coca-Cola's Cover Photo is an example of what your Facebook Fan Page should have.

Coca-Cola’s Cover Photo is an example of what your Facebook Fan Page should have.

In other words, you want something that showcases your products without actively telling your fans to buy them. If you can’t manage that, then go with something that showcases your company’s intrinsic values or the employees that work for you.

Remember that a picture’s worth more than just a thousand words on social media.

4. Focusing on Likes Too Much

While it’s true that Likes will likely drive your Fan Page towards success when the right people Like it, it’s not the end-all-be-all of Facebook marketing.

This is where a firm understand on how Facebook’s Fan Page mechanics work comes into play.

Likes by themselves only drive content up on a person’s Facebook Timeline so much. It’s comments and messages from other users to the Fan Page that allows it to show up on friend’s feeds and the like.

When it comes to obtaining more Likes, your best bet is to deliver exceedingly quality content that your fans share with like-minded people.

For more on how you can learn about this, see my Facebook Wealth Formula review. It covers a course that will likely provide you with the benefits you need to make your next Facebook marketing campaign a critical success.

5. Posting Unrelated Content

This is one of the biggest mistakes that small businesses tend to make. They think that they lack the type of content their fans want to see, so they post anything and everything they can find in the sheer hope that their fans will interact with their content.

This rarely works for building an audience, and it will only create an ineffective following when it does finally give you one.

That’s why you should always focus on on-brand material that works to ultimately promote yourself and the voices of your Fans.

Simple, to-the-point and effective. This is how your Fan Page posts should look.

The Comprehensive Guide on How to Make Money on Fiverr for Beginners and the Experienced

I feel like there’s so many methods, books and online courses that want to impress on you that you have to earn large dollar amounts with your online business efforts or you’re not earning.

This is counterproductive to everything I’ve ever learned through experience, because every single penny that you earn matters when you’re just starting out.

Think of it like your first summer job, if you had one. You’re only earning $20 per lawn you mow or $5 for watering someone’s lawn, but it’s worth it. You grasp tightly onto that hard-earned money that you earned through your own efforts while saving up to purchase something.

Those first few dollars work to teach you that you can be successful. You get physical proof that what you’re doing works, which is why I feel that so many people underestimate them.

Fiverr’s one of those useful sites where anyone can actually make money without being forced to buy in to expensive products or unreliable services. That’s why I love it.

Today, I’m going to discuss Fiverr and sites like Fiverr in an attempt to give you an understanding of how you can begin earning money online right now. These sites make earning an online living accessible to everyone whom has something worth sharing.

While it’s unlikely that you’ll earn enough money to fill Scrooge McDuck’s vault, you will learn the skills you need to be successful in making money online. You’ll also learn what it takes to start, establish and run your own business while gaining first-hand experience in customer relations.

I’m going to run you through the following things in this MVP-style guide:

  1. What is Fiverr? – Learn what Fiverr is, how it works and how you can make it work for you.
  2. How do you make money on Fiverr? – How does Fiverr make you money, and why should you use it?
  3. How can you optimize your Fiverr Gigs to make more? – Learn how to maximize the conversions of your Gigs while increasing how many buyers you have.
  4. How much money can you make on Fiverr? – Is the sky really the limit when it comes to Fiverr, or is it just for small-time entrepreneurs?

So if you’re just starting out online, if you want a taste of Internet business, or you’re just looking for a sure-fire way to turn hard work into revenue without buying into some over-inflated e-marketing course, then read on with this post. I wrote it with you in mind.

What is Fiverr?

Fiverr is sort of like a Craigslist in terms of the products and services you can sell, but it’s a place where everything can be paid for in multiples of $5 amounts. This makes it a place where frugal people can browse for services that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and a place where people are more liable to spend their money for certain services.

When answering “What is Fiverr?”, think of it like this: You’d have to go through the trouble of finding a professional speaker to record himself for a fifteen-second advertisement or greeting on your website. This could cost a pretty penny.

Or you could go to Fiverr, where you can get that done by a high-rated seller for $5.

But How Do You Make Money on Fiverr?

The idea behind how to make money on Fiverr is fairly simple: You offer unique or services with a better value than most other people with the $5 price tag.

As your Gig, which is what jobs are referred to on Fiverr, begins to pick up in popularity and to receive positive reviews, the amount of work that you’ll see will begin to increase. Over time, you’ll become a higher level seller, which enables features like multiple gig orders and extra gig features that you can charge anywhere from an additional $5 to $50 for.

The reason I like bringing up Fiverr to people who may not have found success online is that the sky is the limit with this website, even if you really do have to start small. You can also create multiple Gigs, which allows someone who may not be sure of their own talents to try different things until they find something they like.

That means when you learn how to make money on Fiverr and that money actually begins to start to flow in to your Paypal account, you’ll have material proof that you can make money online. The best part is that the turnaround rate for Fiverr is 1-2 days after you’ve completed your Gig for someone.

So, How Do You Get Started Making Money on Fiverr?

The first step of the process is creating your Fiverr account. Luckily, this process is easy as can be due to Fiverr’s new-style interface.

You just need to click on the following button or “Join” in the top-right corner to get started.

Begin Creating Your Fiverr Account By Clicking on This

The next pop-up will prompt you to join with your Facebook account, your Google+ account or just your email.

Three Ways to Join With Fiverr

You can join Fiverr with your Facebook account, your Google+ account or just an email.

I recommend that you join with whichever account works the best for you. Fiverr offers some basic integration with Facebook and Google+, which can make it easier for you to get word out about your services if you already have developed accounts or you want intertwine social media marketing with your Gigs.

When you sign up, you’ll be able to choice a user name You should pick one that reflects that type of services you plan to offer or a professional name or synonym.

While “PinkPrincess417”may be okay for voice over work, you’ll likely lose potential Gigs, especially early on when they’re the most crucial, if you opt for a professional topic like online marketing or writing.

Getting Personal with Fiverr

One of the best ways to inspire confidence in your customers is to add a personal touch to your work. This lets them know that you’re a real person who cares about the problems that they’re hiring you to solve.

The best way to do this is by customizing your Fiverr Public Profile.

An example of a quick profile I set up for Fiverr.

An example of a quick profile I set up for Fiverr.

For the Profile Photo, use something that’s a professional photo of your face or something that represents the kind of business you plan to conduct. For example, you may want to go with an illustration of a globe if you choose something SEO-oriented.

The next thing you’ll want to address is the “Something About You” field. You’ll have 300 characters to essentially sell yourself to your customers and to reassure to them that you know what you’re doing.

The last thing you’ll need to change is to add any additional languages you can communicate in. This can be a big boost, as around one-third of Fiverr’s clients prefer to communicate in languages other than English.

Setting Up Your First Fiverr Gig

At the top right corner of Fiverr.com, you’ll see a button that says “Start Selling”.

You can click on that to be introduced to a new screen designed to promote the creation of your Fiverr gig.

Once there, you just click on “Create a Gig” and you’re off.

Create a Gig with Fiverr

A quick Gig I created to help you understand what yours should look like.

While what you add to your Gig will depend heavily upon what you plan to sell and whom you plan to sell you, you should embellish it as much as you can. You’ll want to ensure that your Gig title stands out, that your description is compact but comprehensive, and that you include detailed instructions for the buyer that won’t lead to a single drop of confusion.

You’ll also want to put up an attention-getting picture and ensure that your tags are accurate for anyone trying to find the service or product you’re providing.

How to Make Money on Fiverr by Improving Your Gigs’ Performance

While I think that Fiverr is one of the best ways for you to start out with your own Internet business, that doesn’t meant hat you’ll always be working for pennies. You can raise the price on your Fiverr gigs to appropriately reward yourself with the kind of money that you deserve for them, but only if you provide excellent services that your customers love.

To that end, I’ve put together a list of 6 tips that will increase the effectiveness of your Fiverr Gigs.

1. Work With Your Customers

Because Fiverr is viewed as a site for ‘value’ services by many, you’ll find that the type of customers you get tend to vary widely in their communication skills. Some might use plain, easy-to-understand English while others might take a few messages back-and-forth to understand.

Don’t be afraid to ask your buyers questions about what they want. After all, the customer is (usually) right.

2. Make Extensive Use of Buyer Instructions

Addressing the problem of communication should be your chief concern when it comes to Fiverr. By using clear buyer instructions broke down into a detailed list, you can reduce how many conflicts you have with your customers.

A quick way to ensure that your instructions do this is by asking things like:

    1. What type of service do you want?
    2. What color/subject/field do you want it to be in?
    3. Do you have any other special requests?

3. Add a Personal Touch

Fiverr is yet another place where treating people like people will win you favors. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself or to ask your customers their names in the buying instructions.

A simple greeting can be enough to motivate your buyer to do favorable things like leaving you a positive review.

4. Be Patient

You’ll likely run into many bumpy patches and confusing customers when you first start out, simply because your Gig won’t have the highest rating to start with. If you continue to work through it, you should find that you begin to obtain customers whom are easier to work with and generally less demanding.

Whatever you do, don’t give up when it comes to Fiverr.

5. Over Deliver (Just a Tiny Bit)

Although this is hard to do if you’re delivering with physical products, you should always try to add in a little extra.

For example, say that you’re offering 300-word articles. You can make them 325+ words in length to ensure that your customers get a little more bang for their buck. The positive relationship building you’ll receive from those few words will add up down the road.

6. Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Feedback

One of the most important aspects of your Fiverr Gig is how much positive feedback you have. Most people will be reluctant to order from people whom only have a small bit of feedback, which is why you need to encourage your customers to leave a review after every Gig.

If you follow the above tips, they’ll be that much more likely to do so.

Feel like you want to make your Fiverr success a sure thing? Take a look at this Fiverr Guide to learn how to make your Gigs sell like hotcakes.

Can You Really Make Serious Money in Fiverr?

The last thing to address is just how much money you can earn on Fiverr. Although the minimum amount is $5 per Gig, you can eventually start to add features that cost $5 or more to each of those Gigs in addition to offering multiple Gigs per order.

This means that you can make more than $5 per order, which means that you have a lot of wiggle room for increased profits when it comes to Fiverr.

How much money can you make on Fiverr? That’s a tough one. You can browse through the site to see sellers with 2,000+ Gigs completed with each gig costing just $5. This means that they’ve earned $10,000 or more through their Gigs. There’s even stories of sellers earning enough through Fiverr alone to fund their own start-ups and to buy rather large, comfortable and fully-furnished homes for their families.

The ultimate answer is that how much you earn on Fiverr is up to you. You can run your business here, develop a relationship with your customers and then use that as a take-off point for your online business later. This is just one of the few ways that you can make money online right now while having tangible proof in your hand (in other words, dollar bills) that shows you can be successful.

If you feel that you want to earn big bucks with Fiverr or you’re confused about making your first Fiverr Gigs, then my advice is to take a look at this limited-release Fiverr Guide.

It shows you how to make Gigs, how to draw in traffic, and how to optimize your Gigs for conversions.

That means money in the bank for you.

Google Panda 4.0 – Everything You MUST Know

Everything-You-Need-to-Know-About-Panda-4.0

It’s official, – Panda 4.0 has finally been implemented, and sites are about to go through the most rank-changing ‘Google Dance’ we’ve seen since Penguin was originally implemented.

Let’s find out what this latest major change to the Google search algorithm means for search users and websites.

What’s So Important About Another Algorithm Update?

Search engine traffic is one of the best ways to create traffic to your website. When harnessed properly, you can see visitors that you could otherwise never afford to bring to your website with methods like pay-per-click advertising or even social media marketing.

The best part is that ranking in search engines is technically free. That’s what’s attractive about it, especially when you take topics like content marketing into consideration.

But what’s so important about algorithm changes?

Simply put, they represent alterations in the way Google categorizes websites and how Google calculates a website’s relevance to any given search term using some 200 points of data.

What is Panda 4.0?

Google Panda Updates in a NutshellThe primary focus of Panda 4.0 will be to root out low-quality and spammy websites from search results. This means that things like autoblogs, website that steal content and other insidious, less-helpful websites with stolen content should begin to swirl down the proverbial drain while websites with amazing content that people find useful get pushed to the top.

But what does this mean for search engine users, and what should websites do to prevent losses in their rankings?

What Does Panda 4.0 Mean for Search Engine Users?

The new Google Panda 4.0 update will be the turning point of how searches work. This is big for everyone, search engine users and websites included.

Here’s how Matt Cutts explains the Panda 4.0 update:

Matt Cutts Explains Panda 4.0 in a Twitter Tweet

This means that searches should get a lot more friendly for people whom try to use them. Results should begin to be more accurate and more sensible as the Panda 4.0 update begins to complement the semantic search features implemented with Google Hummingbird and the content-oriented Penguin updates.

How Can Websites Prevent Being Hurt by Yet Another Google Update?

While every other Google update has brought about the same kind of ‘Panda’-monium as four horse riders wearing dark hoods would, this is likely one of the very few updates where I honestly wouldn’t recommend that you change anything of what you’re doing with your website if you want to keep your rankings.

Why is this? Because a number of websites whom focus on the time-tested strategy of creating amazing content with their blogs and posting new, helpful articles have reported astounding gains since the implementation of Google Panda 4.0 on Sunday.

The only thing I would recommend is that if you’re not already focused on doing so, then begin writing new content and cross-promoting it on your social media marketing platforms. If you haven’t already looked at my Most comprehensive List of Web 2.0 Sites, then I recommend starting there. This will ensure that positive signals get sent to your content, which in turn will allow your websites to rank that much better in an era where content is still king.

The Secret to Amazing Headlines Without Having to Think – Blog Titles: Part Two

In my previous post about How to Write Headlines and Blog Titles, I tried to address the big problems that I see with titles and what elements go together to make an exciting title that keeps your readers hooked on your post.

Secrets-of-Writing-Amazing-Headlines-that-Will-Entice-People-to-Read-Your-Blog

Now, we’re going to go over how to step-by-step craft the best titles you’ve ever seen. I’m going to even add n a special no-brainer, fill-in-the-blank bonus section at the end of this post, so stay tuned if you wanted to learn the secrets of amazing post titles!

How do You Start Writing Amazing Headlines?

As you likely already know, the secret to bringing new visitors to your blog through search engines and things like the WordPress Reader is to write amazing headlines the force readers to inquire within.

The process of learning how to craft amazing headlines and titles is a long and arduous one, but I’ve tried to condense it into a few tips that will help you expedite that journey. Just be careful when you use these tips, as you don’t want to write headlines that will force what audience you do have already to abandon you.

1. Write Multiple Headlines

You know how people say that you’re unlikely to do something on the first try? Headlines and blog post titles are a lot like that.

Seldom will you ever see an amazing title that someone created on the first try.

To get on your way with writing titles that will excite, panic and motivate readers to read your posts, you should try to write multiple titles for every piece of content you create. Brainstorm and think of different titles that address the points I’ve already discussed about headlines.

2. Dissect Headlines

There’s no better way to get familiarized with amazing headlines than to seek them out and pick them apart so that you can see how they work.

Ask yourself the following questions when you’re dissecting titles:

  • What grabs me about this?
  • What words make me want to read this?
  • Does it have a lead-in?
  • What makes this headline better than other similar headlines?

Looking for a source of headlines to study from? Then take a look at one of humanity’s oldest pieces of print: newspapers!

Newspapers are a great place to start dissecting headlines. You’ll notice that the main headline of a newspaper is always phrased in such a way that you almost have to pick it up and read the full story. Take note of how they do this.

3. Start With Something That Already Works

I know that everyone, myself included, wants to be able to write their own headlines without relying on other people, but you have to paint by numbers before you can paint like Picasso.

What I mean by this is that you should start by using something that already works. Use headline templates, fill in the blanks and see how effective they are.

When you come across posts that give you these templates (just like this one does), bookmark them! You’ll need them for later.

BONUS: My Lost List of Headline Templates and Examples

It’s hard to come up with original post titles all the time, especially when you’re just beginning to write amazing headlines. It’s going to take some serious time to be able to build a title that makes your readers chase your posts for more.

So, how can you start writing amazing titles today? Easy! Use the templates I’ve included below.

One of the most crucial parts of running this blog is reading other people’s blogs. I use them as a way of creating backlinks, generating traffic, and, most importantly, creating relationships with other readers and blog owners.

Secrets-of-Writing-Amazing-Headlines-that-Will-Entice-People-to-Read-Your-Blog

The one thing I’ve noticed, and I’ve seen this even in my own posts, is that posts tend to have boring titles. They’re simple and to the point, but they tend to make people whom see them say, “So what?”

Let me clarify what I mean.

The answer should be that the second headline is far more enticing. It’s due to a few things, which I’ll describe at length in part one of this two-part post about titles.

What Makes an Explosive Headline?

In my Frank opinion, an amazing headline is able to answer the following questions before a reader even begins reading the rest of an article. Those questions are:

An Example of Explosive Headlines That Readers Have to Read

An Example of Explosive Headlines That Readers Have to Read

  1. What is this blog or article about?
  2. Who should read this post?
  3. What will I (the reader) obtain from investing my time and effort into reading it?

If your headline falls flat at any point, you’ll receive less exposure than you should. Not only will visitors just glance at your posts if they’re using something like an RSS feed, but they’ll tend to ignore them altogether when your post pops up in a search engine like Google.

These three questions are vital if you want anyone to be click on your post and read it all the way through.

3 Common Facebook Marketing Mistakes You Can (and Need to) Avoid

Can-You-Really-Make-Money-using-Facebook&alt;em>Lots of marketers turn Facebook marketing into places where crude, jumbled billboards litter the social networking site. They put too much information, give their readers too many choices, and act as if everything is okay, even when the sky is really falling.

You want to avoid all these things, because they all work against your main goal: attracting new users and keeping the ones you have.

Let’s go over 3 of the most common Facebook page mistakes, and how you can quickly remedy them.

1. Making Long Posts

Let’s face it, people prefer messages that are short, simple and to the point. Nobody’s going to sit there and read something that looks like this:

Long, wordy Facebook posts tend to be received poorly by your Fans.

Long, wordy Facebook posts tend to be received poorly by your Fans.

The problem with these posts is that they’re an overload of information. You want to keep your message shorts, concise and to the point.

Here’s how to fix this: Follow Twitter’s 140-character limit when you make your posts, but allow yourself to go a few characters over.

If you still have a block of text after trimming down your words, then make use of white space. Facebook is wonderful because it allows you to utilize new lines.

2. Including More Than One Link Per Post

In your Facebook post, your link is your call-to-action. It’s what drives your connections to visit your website and allows you to monetize your Facebook marketing.

Here's an example of how you should avoid using links in Facebook posts.

Here’s an example of how you should avoid using links in Facebook posts.

Multiple calls to action, such as the one above, will only work to confuse your followers. They’ll get lost in your post almost immediately and disregard at least half of it.

Here’s how to fix this: Only include one link per post. If you have multiple links, then make multiple posts.

3. Promoting Products on Your Own Page

One of the absolute biggest mistakes the businesses and marketers make on Facebook is that they promote their own products directly to their audiences.

Nobody, I repeat, nobody wants to see your productspromoted by you in their Facebook Timeline feed.

You’re pushing advertising in someone’s face that likely isn’t wanted. You will end up hurting yourself if you do this.

Here’s how to fix this: It’s okay to promote your own product when you have some value added to your post.

Lowe's Home Improvement shows Facebook marketers how self-promotion should be done on Facebook.

This example from Lowe’s Home Improvement showcases such a situation. They’re promoting their sprinklers, but they’re offering something with entertainment value to it by helping their fans think about a time they had fun in their lives.

Wrapping It All Up

5 Effective Ways to Promote Your Facebook Fan Page and 1 Myth Dispelled

Fans are the commodity that keeps your Facebook marketing running. Active ones will give you an insight into what your target audiences like, promote your page through their interaction and lead to more Facebook members becoming your fans.

The problem is that people need to be motivated to Like your Facebook Page. That’s why, in order to help with your Facebook marketing, I’m going to quickly cover 5 effective ways to promote your Facebook Fan page after discussing one popular way of Facebook promotion that fails.

The Biggest Facebook Myth

The most prevalent advice I’ve ever seen pertaining to Facebook concerns how you should handle your Facebook Fan Page right after you’ve created it: You should invite all your friends to it using the ‘Suggest to Friends’ button.

Facebook 'Suggest to Friends' May Not Be So Effective

Facebook ‘Suggest to Friends’ May Not Be So Effective

Here’s the thing: that doesn’t work so well.

Not only has Facebook reduced the maximum number of friends you can use this feature to suggest a Page to, they’ve made it so that these suggestions tend to go unnoticed. It’s not uncommon for a person to have hundreds of missed suggestions on their account.

What’s more is that aggressively suggesting your Page to all your friends is counter-intuitive Few will like it and more will begin to actually dislike it.

So with that myth out of the way, let’s discuss 7 proven ways to get Facebook Fans.

1. Invite Your Website’s Visitors with an Embedded Widget

It’s likely that you already have a number of visitors on your own website or blog. You can embed a simple “Like This” box on your website that will allow them to quickly and easily like your website.

An Example of Facebook Widget Embedded With a WebsiteFacebook provides an embeddable widget for your website that you can find from your Facebook Fan Page’s administration section.

If you want something better, which I do recommend, then you’re going to need to learn how to use FBML. It will enable you to create a live widget that shows your latest actions and interactions with your followers.

2. Make Your Landing Tab Exquisite

With the amount of customization Facebook allows, it’s entirely possible to create a full-featured landing tab that enthralls newcomers to your Page. Add some graphics, a compelling video and a bit of markup to drastically increase the conversion rate of your Fan Page.

3. Leverage the Power of Apps

Facebook Apps can extend the functionality of your Fan Page. This gives fans more of a reason to Like your Page and, ultimately, continue coming back to it.

Some examples of apps integrated with pages include Vpype, an application that allows streaming video, and Target’s “Bullseye Gives”, which allows Fans to vote as to which charity Target donates to and share their use of this app on their Timeline.

4. Integrate Facebook Into Your Website

While there are a number of ways to integrate Facebook’s many features into your website, the most useful is by integrating Facebook comments with your website’s content.

Integrate Facebook Comments with your Website to Produce More Fans

Integrate Facebook Comments with your Website to Produce More Fans

As people like and comment on your pages, they will post things to their Facebook Feed. This can spread your Facebook presence and lead to a viral visitor situation where you gain more Fans than you know what to do with them.

5. Invite Your Email Subscribers

If you’ve been hard at work building an email subscriber list like any good marketer should be, then you already have a great start. All you need to do is to add your Facebook logo or badge to your HTML emails to give your subscribers the opportunity they need to become a Fan.

You can even take this one step further. Say something like, “Become a part of our Facebook community.” to give your readers a reason to join.

5 Ways to Get Facebook Friends to Your Page

No matter if you’ve just picked up Facebook marketing with the Facebook Wealth Formula or if you’re an experienced Facebook business person, you’ll find that these methods are timeless and far better than the “Suggest to Friends” feature.

What about you? Which of these methods have you used to get fans to your Facebook Page? Feel free to add your own ideas for attracting new Fans below!

All It Takes is 12 Hours a Week to Run Your Blog. Here’s How to Do It.

Blogging seems to be an entirely new way of gathering traffic, at least when it comes to businesses used to the more traditional methods of content marketing and marketing in general.

Even for me, it’s still a bit difficult. I have to motivate myself to blog as much as I do, which is aided greatly by keeping a schedule of how much I should work on it and what I should work on.

Let’s take a quick look at how I keep my blog running on a minimum of just 12 hours a week. You might find it interesting.

8 Hours – Planning and Writing

Learning to achieve success is as easy as learning to think; anyone can do it, but first you have to try.

Learning to achieve success is as easy as learning to think; anyone can do it, but first you have to try.

The first and foremost concern of running my blog is the content I post to it. I want to come up with invigorating and exciting posts that keep you reading as much as I can, and I want to do so with a certain regularity so you know when to expect my next post.

That’s why I don’t stop working. Not ever.

I may not be actively writing, but I am tossing around ideas for posts in my head. I go over broad things like topics, then I think about how I can offer information in a way that’s both better and different from before.

It’s not until my Monday through Friday week that I actually start writing.

When I go through the process of creating a post, I pick a format out of my hat. I use the topic I have in my mind to fill it out.

After an hour or two of crafting a post, I save it. The next day, I go back and proofread it. I carefully examine it, then I add the little embellishments like images and formatting.

Having Trouble Coming Up With Ideas for Blog Posts?

It’s not always easy to come up with ideas. When I have trouble, I take a look at one of the many blogs that I’ve subscribed to via RSS or that I’m following on WordPress for ideas.

The one thing I do want to iterate is that I always avoid writing the exact same post as someone else but in different words. The only thing I take away is the topic. Sometimes, I’ll have an idea for a post in my head, but I’ll write something drastically different when I finally begin working.

This is the least formulaic part of blogging, so it tends to take around 8 hours a week.

2 Hours – Creating Something Original

While I spend a certain amount of time working on blogs for the sake of blogging, I like to allocate a least 2 hours a week working on something original that acts like a permanent piece of blogging real estate.

For example, I’m currently working on my About page. This is something I want to take the time to craft to perfection, because it forms a pillar of my blog.

How-to guides and content that’s basically “timeless” that you would link back to in blog posts should have a certain amount of time and effort dedicated to them each week. This will ensure that you steadily work towards creating something that’s 100% your own and 100% quality.

1 Hour – Blog Interaction

Interaction is one of the Keys to Blogging and Business[/caption]

Interaction is one of the Keys to BloggingMost people will recommend that you spend a few hours a day commenting on blogs.

I don’t. I dedicate a few minutes a day using the WordPress reader and my RSS feeds interacting with other blogs.

I want to make it known that I differentiate commenting and interacting due to the fact that commenting is a one-time thing.

Interacting, on the other hand, is about building relationships with other bloggers and your own readers. This is what turns your blog from a desolate wasteland into a busy, bustling community.

1 Hour – Social Media

The last thing you need to focus on is social media. It’s the easiest, most accessible way to interact with your blog’s readers and to create ways for new people to find your blog.

Twitter can Become an Integral Part of Your BusinessMy personal recommendation is to use Twitter and Facebook for general topics. If you need a different audience, then focus on networks like LinkedIn for professional readers and Pinterest for more leisure-focused topics like shopping and humor.

When it comes to actually promoting my blog, I just spend a few minutes sprinkling my blog’s URL here and there. I let WordPress.com handle notifying my Twitter followers when I add a new post.

So that’s maybe 5 minutes tops that I spend self-promoting on social media.

For the other 55 minutes, I focus on building relationships. I message my followers on Facebook, send messages to Page owners whom might be interested in cross-promotion, and I work on sprucing up my profiles.

Summary

I hope that taking you through how I work on my blog will help you better work with your own. I can’t stress enough how important it is to focus on building your block as if you were building a structure brick by brick; everything you do needs to be cumulative.

How much time do you spend on your blog? What advice do you have for people who might be struggling with creating regular posts?

7 Reasons You Shouldn’t Rely on Black Hat Marketing or Link Building Techniques

“Black Hat” is the term used to described everything from SEO techniques to marketing strategies. While some people swear by it and many others make their living from it, I want to present a few reasons as to why it’s something that you should stay away from.

Before I get started, let me just say that, unlike lots of other people, I’m not going to preach in this post. I’m going to offer a level-headed and logical approach to this post without relying on the argument of morals.

What is Black Hat?

Black Hat Marketing ExplainedIf you already know what “black hat” means, then feel free to skip to the next section. I know there’s plenty of people who do.

Otherwise, allow me to explain it. Black hat describes marketing techniques, link building strategies and any other activity that uses either the way a system works or takes advantage of people in order to profit. While the methods are usually against the rules of whatever person governs that system, there are only a few situations where they are wholly illegal.

In contrast, “White Hat” describes the business model most people are familiar with. You add quality content and provide services for people in a way that is beneficial for both parties. No one, not advertiser, customer or any other intermediary, feels cheated at the end of the day.

7 Reasons You Shouldn’t Rely on Black Hat Techniques

Without further ado, let’s examine the faults that the black hat ideology provides. As I mentioned earlier, let’s leave morals out of this and examine this with a business-centric way of thinking.

1. Black Hat is Tedious

Black hat techniques rely on cheating the system. This often means simulating the work and activity that most people display by making use of automated solutions, which in turn means defeating deterrants designed to stop them like captchas.

It can often take just as much effort to design these automated solutions as it does to develop an authentic white hat business. That puts black hat marketing and link building on the same level of white hat in terms of effort for all but the largest of operations.

2. Black Hat Tends to be Low Quality

Link Building is All About the Strongest Link in the ChainThe kind of places and people who tend to be the most vulnerable to black hat practices are generally those with a low amount of value. This means that websites with a miniscule amount of domain authority and people who are less interested in being your customer than the homeless man down the street without a dime to his name is.

By contrast, you can usually acquire high-quality customers and links by filtering out these people and then manually approaching them.

3. Black Hat Can Be Spammy

It was about three or four years ago when the blog commenting craze really began. Automated black hat solutions arose that made commenting on autopilot easier than ever before, which in turn resulted in Google and other search engines seriously devaluing the worth of a blog comment.

The amount of automation needed for black hat solutions tends to make it spammy. This can have adverse effects, like having your website caught by Akismet as a source of spam.

4. Black Hat Tends to be Synonymous with Temporary

Black hat methods tend to be fleeting. Exploits that make them work tend to get patched quickly, and the people who would be taken in by these methods tend to wise up. Affiliates and ad networks tend to catch people who send bad traffic towards offers.

Even black hat links tend to be fleeting. The sites that they do get published on tend to be low-value, which in turn results in many of these websites disappearing in a matter of months.

5. Black Hat Requires Constant Adaptability

Because loopholes get patched and people grow tired of black hat techniques so quickly, people who use them must force themselves to adapt these techniques. They need to alter them, grow them larger and then continue to do so as long as they wish to make a profit from them.

They’re not exactly techniques suited for long-term marketing. You’ll be lucky if they last for even the short term.

6. Black Hat Always Stops Working

Marketing that Stops Working Puts You in TroubleBlack hat techniques tend to stop working as soon as someone makes a change that makes them devalued.

For example, consider a method that pivots around spamming a social network with links. If something as little as making these links unclickable occurs, then it’s possible that the black hat method will quickly become unviable.

7. Black Hat Techniques Tend to Bring Bad Publicity

The largest disadvantage of black hat techniques, in my Frank opinion, is that they bring bad publicity to you. While this may not seem like a big idea if you specialize only in black hat marketing, it should be something you’re worried about.

Even if your name isn’t linked to any businesses, it could be linked to something like CPA networks. Similarly to casinos, CPA networks tend to share a list of “people to avoid due to black hat techniques” with one another.

This can result in your name being written down on someone’s blacklist.

Are Black Hat Techniques Worth It?

Black Hat Money Might Be WorthlessPersonally, I don’t find black hat techniques worth messing with. Just take a look at the 5 Non-Black Hat Ways to Make a Quick Buck Online I posted some time ago. The methods here are simple, require minimal automation and can be done somewhat leisurely.

If you want to start a real business, then you should stay away from using black hat techniques for marketing or link building. There’s plenty of legitimate ways to make money using Facebook and other sources.

At the end of the day, you’ll find that building a busienss rather than making a quick buck will provide more satisfaction.

What do you think about black hat link building and marketing techniques? Should you stay away from them? Do they only work for knowledgeable people? Leave your thoughts below.

A Frank Former Facebook Marketer’s Opinion on “Does Facebook Wealth Formula 2.0 Work?”

Ever since Facebook became situated as one of the most popular places for Internet marketers to make a profit, there has been an influx of Facebook-related marketing products.

As always, very few of them are passable. Finding one that’s good is like pulling a 14-carat diamond out of a mud pile.

The point of this post will be to answer the following question: Does the Facebook Wealth Formula work?

fbwealthformula

I’m not going to waste your time by trying to sell it to you. The purpose of this post is to go over a quick summary of the problems that Facebook marketers face, then I will see how well the Facebook Wealth Formula 2.0 handles those issues.

At the end of this post, I’ll judge it and give my Frank opinion of if it’s a worth the cash, if it’s better off as a free product, or if you shouldn’t waste your time with it.

Simple, easy, Frank.

Let’s get started.

The Products Promising to Make You a Facebook Marketing Guru Overnight

Let’s get one thing straight: making money on Facebook isn’t easy.

Too many people end up asking if you can really make money on Facebook, but only because they end up buying into methods that promise to make them millionaires overnight.

The First rule of Making Money with FacebookWhile you might get a few spoonfuls of success with these methods, they almost never pan out in the long run.

You have to treat Facebook marketing as you would any real business. If you want it to stay sustainable, you need to spend your time proving yourself as an expert, growing a fan base and coming up with unique ideas that people will cling to.

Keep the idea of treating Facebook marketing like a bona fide business in mind, as I’ll come back to it in a minute.

For now, let’s move on to the problems that Internet marketers face while trying to market on Facebook.

Internet Marketers and Facebook: The Big Problems

Most Internet marketers that try to use Facebook for the first, second or fourteenth time tend to end up falling flat on their faces. They make mistakes that result in their self-sabotage.

The source of these self-defeating behaviors stems from bad products that don’t teach them how to handle Facebook as a business.

Making Facebook Marketing Succeed

To that point, there’s three things that I believe Internet marketers tend to face when it comes to Facebook:

  1. Understanding your audience.
  2. Attracting valuable followers.
  3. Focusing on providing something that promotes sales.

Let’s go over each in brief detail.

1. Understanding Your Audience

Understanding the motivations and desires of your audience is key n any field of marketing. It helps you appeal to them, gain trust with them, and, ultimately, sell products to them.

Most Facebook-oriented products don’t teach you how to do this.

This is a problem. A big one.

What’s worse is that Facebook provides you with a toolbox of utilities that can help you better understand the people who watch you. For example, Facebook Insights can be instrumental in picking up on when your audience members are most active, what kind of content they love, and how far your content reaches.

2. Attracting Valuable Followers

There are two types of followers when it comes to Facebook: bots and real people.

You want the latter of the two.

The reason this is even a problem worth mentioning is that many products and courses focusing on Facebook marketing tend to state that a follower is a follower Unless they have a face and there’s a real person behind them, they have minimal use to you.

On the flip side of things, you also have a very small use to them. That means they won’t Like your content or even read it.

That’s another self-defeating belief.

3. Focusing on Sales

There exists a peculiar paradox in Facebook marketing: Everyone wants to make money, but nobody wants to outright buy your products.

Facebook is a Window to Marketing SuccessHow do you overcome this? The first rule is that you don’t shove your products into the faces of people. Period. It doesn’t matter if they’re interested, as you’ll eventually earn a bad reputation.

How can you go about selling to the people on Facebook? It’s simple, – provide them with something of value for free.

In other words, you need to work to provide them with insights that only you can provide. If you’re marketing green products, then provide them with a list detailing the 10 most efficient products to generate renewable energy.

You can link them to your sales pages at the end or within the article.

If you’re focusing on shorter content, then you can incorporate a pre-sales strategy to one of your own pages. Give them free content, then give the option to buy something to the people who view you as an expert.

What Do These Problems Have to Do with the Facebook Wealth Formula?

The Facebook Wealth Formula, or “FB Influence 2.0” as it’s called now, is yet another of those seemingly endless products that want to teach you how to get rich from Facebook.

While it’s no 14-carat gem, I do believe it’s one that’s worth 3 or 4 carts on its own. It gives you a basic understanding of Facebook along with a number of strategies that you can use to leverage Facebook marketing to your advantage.

The reason that I’ll even give the Facebook Wealth Formula 2.0 3 or 4 carats concerns the fact that it doesn’t promote a simple method to make money. It promotes teaching you how to actually start your Facebook business, which in turn leads to larger and more stable profits.

A Quick Overview of what the Facebook Wealth Formula Covers

It’s split up into four modules:

  1. Core Principles Pertaining to Facebook
  2. Growing Your Fans and Followers
  3. Engaging Your Followers in a Positive Light
  4. Making Your Fans Work for You

When you combine these modules together, you’ve got about 60% of what you need to begin marketing on Facebook. As you’ll find out in the first module, the other 40% comes from learning about your audience and dressing up your Facebook business in your own unique way.

What I Don’t Like About the Facebook Wealth Formula

What I detest about the Facebook Wealth Formula is simple, – it focuses too much on trying to upsell you on other products. The author is going to try to upsell you on other products at least 3 to 4 times before you finish the Facebook Wealth Formula 2.0.

Succeeding With Your Business Requires DedicationYou’ve been warned.

Aside from that, I don’t think it’s such a bad product. I just have a predominant dislike for products that try to sell you something else after you’ve bought them once.

While you’re going to see an abundance of upselling in the places you’d expect, you do gain access to bonus e-books that detail things like how to launch your product on Facebook, leveraging Facebook groups and the “3-Step Lead Generating Facebook Blueprint”.

Is the Facebook Wealth Formula Worth It?

In all honesty, the Facebook Wealth Formula might be worth purchasing. I think that it provides a solid foundation in Facebook marketing for anyone trying to learn a bit more about it. That means Internet marketers and people trying to learn more about social media marketing for their own business with skills that range from nonexistent to intermediate will find this decent.

It’s by no means a miracle product, nor will it make you rich overnight. However, if you’re willing to chuck in some hard work, creativity and decent work, then it will produce results.

I will say that the Facebook Wealth Formula is worth looking at. Give it a few moments of your time, inspect the product page and see how well you believe it will work for you.

You can click here to access the product page. Just keep in mind that the product’s name has changed from the “Facebook Wealth Formula” to “FB Influence 2.0” due to legal issues.
